Hello I’m Dan Cuthill
I’m your freelance, hybrid medical/creative, copy bod. I’m the ‘DC’ in DC/AC. To find out why I’m the AC too, have a look below.
Associate [medical] Copy
I started out a Medical Writer and I’m still one to my bones. I’ve been Head of Copy and Associate Creative Director, but being a Medical Copywriter is still my happy place. Whatever the role, I love the art of turnng ‘hard science’ and into ‘hard sell’. For good reason, I guess: I started out in science (it’s where I got my PhD).
It means, as well as all the creative stuff (see below), I’m just as happy:
putting a sales aid (or its offspring) together
decoding new brands, papers or knotty statistics
imitating a science supremo for a new brand manager
defending decent copy from mardy medics
writing elegant, punchy prose that change’s minds
(oh and I’ve done plenty of ABPI and Veeva-related stuff too)
Ace Creative
I’ve chalked up a few awards in my time. I’m strong with a headline, with an idea - with getting good work out fast and on brief. It’s fun, this stuff: I hope it shows.
I don’t like working on my own much, so happy to have creative companions. If you need a team, I’m lucky enough to regularly pair up with one of two blisteringly good freelance Senior Art Directors.
It being mostly Rx medical creative, my ‘book’ is locked away behind a password-protected drawbridge. Just email me and I’ll send you the key.
Acts Collaboratively
I’m happy at home, with the dog, just beavering away remotely. I’m happier still in the office (with or without the dog), getting stuff done.
Wherever I am: I love working with people.
So if you need a bod in the office, on a Teams call or ‘game-on’ at Client HQ, sword-fighting the good fight, I’m your Dan.
I’m never more happy getting stuck in with the team (or helping out a team that’s stuck).
